Experience the Spirit of Fiji in Pacific Harbour, a Cultural Journey Worth Taking

There are places in Fiji that invite you to slow your steps, listen a little closer, and feel the weight of heritage in the air. Pacific Harbour is one of those places. Known for its blend of adventure, artistry, community, and coastal beauty, it offers an experience that sits beautifully alongside a stay in Suva. From Holiday Inn Suva, a scenic drive along the coastline brings you to a destination where culture and creativity thrive in equal measure.
At the heart of this community is Damodar Arts Village, Fiji’s newest cultural centre, designed to celebrate traditions that have shaped generations. It is not a staged attraction. It feels lived in and rooted, a space where the past and present meet with purpose. For guests wanting to experience Fiji beyond city streets and waterfront cafés, the village offers a rare glimpse into craftsmanship, architecture, and storytelling.
A Village Built on Heritage and Heart

Damodar Arts Village has been thoughtfully created as an immersive space where visitors can explore the rhythm of Fijian life. The moment you walk in, the scent of fresh coconut husk and woven pandanus leaves lingers in the air, guiding you through pathways that mirror those of traditional island villages. Time slows a little here, giving you room to observe, reflect, and absorb.
Among its standout features is the world’s tallest Bure Kalou, a striking temple structure that rises with quiet authority. Nearby, the Chief’s Bure commands attention with its elegant lines and symbolic details. Both spaces serve as reminders of Fiji’s deep respect for leadership, spirituality, and community. As you walk between them, you may find local artisans demonstrating their craft, shaping natural fibres into baskets, jewellery, and ceremonial objects. Their hands move with confidence, and each piece tells its own story.
A Cultural Performance Crafted With Care

For travellers looking to understand Fiji through its movement, rhythm, and storytelling, the Damodar Arts Village Cultural Performance Package offers an enriching experience. The performance takes place every Wednesday and Saturday at 11 in the morning, with additional dates available throughout December 2025. The show weaves together dance, music, and cultural expression, guided by performers who carry these traditions with pride.
The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully curated. Guests are encouraged to participate, ask questions, and connect with the performers. For groups or private bookings, the village team can create a personalised experience, allowing deeper exploration of tradition, symbolism, and daily life in a Fijian community.
