Thursday,10 September 2026 (Suva, Fiji): FNPF-owned IHG Hotels & Resorts Fiji properties have launched a month-long fundraising initiative to support The Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen, with FJ$1 from every room night stayed throughout September donated to the community organisation. The campaign forms part of IHG Hotels & Resorts' global Journey to Tomorrow responsible business plan and its annual Giving for Good initiative, which encourages hotels to create meaningful impact within their local communities.

The Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen, based at the Sacred Heart Cathedral presbytery in Suva, provides nutritious meals to people experiencing homelessness, hardship and vulnerability. Supported by volunteers, the intervention initiative, headed by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Suva, serves some of the capital's most vulnerable community members with dignity, compassion and care.

The fundraising campaign will run across the three FNPF-owned IHG Fiji properties: InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel Suva and Holiday Inn Suva. Every eligible room night stayed during September will contribute directly to The Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen's ongoing efforts to provide meals and support to those in need.

The initiative reflects IHG Hotels & Resorts' commitment to creating positive social impact through its Journey to Tomorrow programme, which focuses on supporting people, communities and the planet. By connecting guest stays with a local community cause, the campaign enables travellers and residents alike to contribute to meaningful change through everyday travel.

While Fiji's tourism sector continues its strong contribution to the national economy, the campaign acknowledges that many individuals and families still face challenges related to food security and cost-of-living pressures. The partnership with The Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen aims to help strengthen community support networks and raise awareness of the important work carried out by local charities and volunteers.
